food for thought:
{sunday edition}

"I was certain that God had a greater purpose for me, and I prayed every day for Him to reveal it to me. At first I was expecting Him to show me my entire future all at once – maybe with a flash of lightening and a clap of thunder thrown in for good measure. But I came to learn that God never shows us something that we aren’t ready to understand. Instead, He lets us see what we need to see, when we need to see it. He’ll wait until our eyes and hearts are open to Him, and then when we’re ready, He will plant our feet on the path that’s best for us . . . but it’s up to us to do the walking."

Here's a quote from "Left to Tell," my current read. I thought this quote was so freaking powerful. And SO true. Sometimes I get really impatient and want to know why certain things are happening and what's the meaning of this and that or why me why now?...but then I have to remind myself that we will understand when we are ready to understand. I also love the very last part...He will plant our feet on the path that's best for us...it's up to us to do the walking. We've got to get up off our butts and take some action in our lives...stop making excuses or using the dangerous word "someday." Someday I'll do this, someday I'll do that...why not now, why not today?? Do it today before it's too late. Our time is so precious. We should be using it to live our lives to the fullest, love unconditionally, and be grateful for the blessings around us! Thank you Imaculee for reminding me.
