Thanksgiving break came and went too fast of course, but it was so nice to have Todd all to myself for the week! Sleeping in, lazy mornings, family and friend time, movies, games, and a delicious Thanksgiving feast (thanks Hawley!). On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, my sister-in-laws threw me a Barrett baby shower for all the extended family. They are such cute, fun ladies! I felt so loved. Since day one, they've all been awesomely welcoming, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. My favorite part of the shower though, wasn't even the shower part. Let me explain...that day in particular I had some soon-to-be momma worries, and before all the extended family arrived, my sister-in-laws, mother-in-law,and I were sitting in the living room talking about all things motherhood. I can't express how grateful I was for all of their advice, funny stories, and tender memories about motherhood. From stories about epic lactation fails to memories of when my nieces came into the world, I was laughing hysterically and shedding some tears all at once. Oh the roller coaster of emotions! Bottom line, I left that night feeling so much better and so grateful for family.
Tuesday night after the shower, Todd (hubs), Todd (broski), Paige, and I went to see Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and it was AWESOME. Todd and I have been dying to see it ever since the previews for it came out. So we splurged and went to the big screens! Now Todd wants to read the third book with me. We'll see how that goes;). Thanksgiving Eve, we went with Katie, Troy, Tay, Nat, Hawley, and the nieces to visit Santa Claus at Riverwoods. It was so fun to see the nieces all excited to see Santa. Plus the lights at Riverwoods are magical. Have I mentioned that I love Christmas time??? Thanksgiving was a great day. Todd and I had a big Thanksgiving breakfast together, just him and I, and we talked about all that we had to be grateful for...and played an hour or so of Song Pop on our phones, battling it out. We are OBSESSED. It's a problem...that we don't want to fix. Then we went over to Bill and Hawley's for Thanksgiving dinner. It was delicious! Todd my brother got to join us which was so nice. Loved that we got to hang out all day!
