Thankful 13

Peaceful, fall days and tender mercies.

I didn't have work today and neither did Todd.  We both got to sleep in and wake up when our bodies told us they were ready to...not when an alarm clock told us we had to.  We got to wake up next to each other and talk for a little while, in an absolute no hurry to get anywhere.  Finally we rolled out of bed and got to eat a yummy breakfast together...again with no time crunch at all.  I couldn't believe what it did for my spirits.  I was so happy to get to spend such a lazy morning with Todd.  That doesn't happen very often.  I can't remember the last time that happened actually!  Then we got to study our scriptures together...again with no plans on the horizon.  It really was the perfect morning with Todd, and I didn't even realize that I needed that time with him so badly.  I know that life is life, and mornings like that don't come around but once in a blue moon, but I am grateful it came around today.  I needed it.  It reminded me to enjoy what I have right in front of me.  To be grateful for the small things.  To value the mornings we do get to spend together, uninterrupted by work, school, or other obligations.  I hope I can learn to find that time together everyday, even if it's for just 30 minutes.  

Today was a great day...a tender mercy.
